Hello this is a remix of scary_monster's Parametric game tiles + Rummikub. I'm giving credit to scary_monster first for creating the original design. I've added some extra features to make it more interesting. This project also takes inspiration from gheydon's rummikub tiles, so thanks go out to them too. The original designs can be found at these download sites: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46320 (scary_monster) and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1238080 (gheydon) I noticed that we were missing a few pieces, so I created new ones to fill in the gaps. The pieces you see in the pictures are the ones I made myself, and I'm confident they'll turn out perfectly. These tiles have been printed using white Ultimaker PLA with a 0.4mm nozzle (a 0.25mm nozzle might do an even better job). I used a layer height of 0.15mm and 30% infill, along with a brim to ensure a secure print. Design Process: I followed this video tutorial to turn a 2D picture into a 3D model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6cmClwLhz8 (it's under 6 minutes long). To create my 3D model, I used Blender and Inkscape. You can download Blender for free from here: https://www.blender.org/download/ and Inkscape from here: https://inkscape.org/nl/download/ Here's what I did: I picked a logo from my browser and converted it to an SVG file in Inkscape. Then, I opened the SVG file in Blender and turned it into a 3D object. Next, I used Meshmixer to repair the file and remove some unnecessary parts. After that, I merged the Rummikub tile with the picture after scaling it down to size. Finally, I saved the model as an STL file and sliced it for printing. The model still had some issues even after repairing it in Meshmixer, so I decided to export it into Netfabb Online Service. This app has more features than MakePrintable, which only offers three procedures for fixing STL files. With Netfabb Online Service, the number of available procedures is unlimited, making it my go-to choice. It worked perfectly and allowed me to slice the model without any problems. Enjoy! Best, Raimon of IdeaLab
