Ruler slider
thingiverse
This replacement piece serves as an alternative to the sliding section of calipers from Batesville, used for measuring the elbow-to-elbow width of deceased individuals. It is designed with two separate components that need to be joined around a ruler. If the stop at the end of the ruler becomes detached, a practical solution involves attaching a clasp taken from a zip tie using Aron Alpha adhesive. Additionally, this method can also be used for securing the far end of the zip tie to the ruler if necessary. However, it's worth noting that slight sanding may be required on the parts to ensure optimal adhesion.
