I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but a ruler specifically for 3D modeling might help. I used it for small and medium measurements up to 30 cm in mm or cm format. The measuring tool has allowed me to achieve accuracy at a level of around 99%, while saving me an additional 1% that can be dedicated solely to using the model's own measurement tools when working with it, especially useful with high-sensitivity mouse setups that can easily skew my work.
