Isolated from the populous south bank, this ruined cottage and the memory of its gnarled inhabitant serve as a reminder that disaster can strike at any time, and that nothing lasts forever. This Ruined Grumble's Cottage model has two wrecked floors which include the remains of a wooden balcony, stairwell and covered porch; all splendidly detailed. From the edge of the town you can just make out the crumbling ruins of Grumble's cottage in the distance. His house was the stuff of local legend and children were warned not to wander too close to "Grumble's" (no one remembers his real name) as he might snatch them up and boil them for diner. Now they are warned to stay away or be cursed by his ghost! Whether alive or dead, locals avoid the cottage at all costs, and the ruins of Grumble's Cottage remain one of the most avoided locales in all of Torbridge Cull.
