The Achalm Ruins are the remains of a castle on a rock at the summit of the 707.1 m high Achalm, which is the hometown hill of Reutlingen in the Reutlingen district of Baden-Württemberg. The Achalm (706.5 m), the "hometown hill" of Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg is a table mountain of the northern fringe of the middle Swabian Alb in Southwestern Germany. On its summit are sparse remains of the foundation walls of the eponymous medieval castle Achalm, former residence of the extinct noble family of the Counts of Achalm. The 1838 built tower offers a panoramic view over Reutlingen, Eningen, Pfullingen, the northern fringe of the middle Swabian Alb and the Albtrauf. One can also see Tübingen, the Schönbuch and – at clear sight – up to the Hornisgrinde in the Northern Black Forest.
