A handy little box designed to safeguard your sensitive electronics or valuables while on-the-go. The lid securely snaps into place with a satisfying firmness. Strategically positioned clips provide additional static load, ensuring the two halves remain tightly connected. An interlocking seal helps keep dust at bay and offers some protection against water ingress. To access its contents, carefully lift both clips on one side simultaneously. Intentionally designed to thwart attempts to open it by lifting only one clip at a time. The level of water resistance achieved will largely depend on the printing method used. Printed with 3 perimeters and four top layers, this box passed a rigorous water test: I submerged the bottom half in water for several hours without detecting any signs of leakage. Nevertheless, if you plan to leave it exposed to rain for an extended period, consider sealing the exterior by applying a coat of paint. Additionally, the interlocking seal will only provide optimal protection against rain when the box is positioned upright. This design prints effortlessly without supports, as illustrated in the attached image. The clips extend from the base at 65 degrees, accommodating most printers' requirements. At 1 to 1 scale, the internal dimensions measure 120mm L x 70mm W x 62mm H, with a 15mm radius in each corner. Update: Confirmation that this design functions effectively even when printed at 60% scale has been achieved. A revised lid version (1a) has been added, featuring slightly thickened sections around the neck of the clips for enhanced stability. Update 2: For those interested in experimenting with advanced sealing techniques, a new model featuring an o-ring groove and a printable o-ring has been included.
