Rugged Raspi
thingiverse
First Prototype of a rugged RPi case designed for use both indoors and outdoors, featuring numerous sockets for various sensors. Update 19.05.2018: A dedicated case for the RPi Cam has been added, incorporating two micro servo motors, each measuring 9g. The motor extensions were shortened to minimize size and precisely fit within the case. Wall mounts for the cam are currently being printed; photos will be available later. Update 12.05.2018: Additional sockets have been integrated for a "breadboard." Details can be found in the comments section. Update 30.04.2018: A generic, best-fit socket module has been added to accommodate all sensors. For further information, please refer to the comment section. An OpenSCAD file with customizable parameters will be posted shortly. In my location, Thailand, I face challenging environmental conditions, including heavy rainfall, temperatures exceeding 40°C in shaded areas, and direct sunlight for several hours daily. Moreover, small insects are attracted to cases like this one. The RPi case includes sockets for various sensors, a cooler, an LED, and other components. Links to these sensors will be provided in the coming days. Currently, the following sensors have been integrated: * A 30x30 cooler * A vibration sensor * A PIR sensor * An HC SR501 sensor * A 124x64 LED display * A BME280 sensor * Two relays (one for lights and one for the cooler) Note that the LED and HC sensors will not be used outdoors. Cable holes are only located at the bottom of the case to prevent rain from entering through the top. A wall mount will be added later, as well as a camera box with two 9g servo motors. The provided snapshots depict the RPi and components without cables. Further updates will follow, including photos from our garden in Thailand during the summer months.
