I've always been drawn to the Ruger's sleek design. I spent hours researching every iteration, from the Mark I used in World War 2 to the more recent Mark II, Mark III, and Mark IV models. Initially, I was leaning towards the classic look of the Mark I, but I wanted to add some modern touches, so I merged elements from the Mark IV with those of the Mark II. This created a unique blend that seemed both vintage and cutting-edge. However, this combination didn't quite sit right with me, so I decided to start fresh by modeling the entire Mark IV from scratch using Maya 2018. I worked almost exclusively in Polygons mode, taking advantage of primitives and booleans to build many of the parts. However, for more intricate details like the grip, trigger, and trigger ring, I used the Quad-Drape tool. I've found that sometimes getting the shape right from the start yields better results than trying to reshape a primitive afterwards. My next project is tackling Game Resolution.
