Ruger 10-22 Straight 10rd Magazine (Remix WIP)
thingiverse
This is a work in progress and this is where I stop trying. I liked the idea of the challenge to successfully 3D-print a working magazine. My initial intention was to remix this one to include a typical curve and my custom designs ounce I had succeeded. I am close but I am not there yet. The main problem you will face is that the round does not get in an angle (about 30 degrees up) to slide in the chamber. It stays stucked against the head case. Part of this problem is that I am using a spring which is too strong (I think). I have success with 1 to 3 rounds...that's it. I made the main body in 2 parts so that I could quickly print many iterations of the head with the throath the real challenge is. I think anyone who'll want to solve the problem will like that! I include the Solidworks development files. The 4 screws to fix the head are meant to be #5 diameter and 5/8 in. long. The main body will fit perfectly with that. There are 2 versions of the bottom closing plate : 1 piece or 2 pieces depending on how picky you are with looks ;o) I believe the bottom follwer to be optional. but I kept it since it was in the original design. I used a CAD downloaded from grabcad dot com to improve the original main body design. Part of the solution will be to use a lighter spring than mine for 1. For 2, work on the lip to give the round a lift into the chamber and maybe 3, work on the top follower for the angle. Good luck and keep me posted if you succeed!
