The remnants of an old turf-constructed building stand tall, its walls still intact at up to half a meter high. The elevated floor level indicates that the demolition primarily targeted the walls, largely confining the destruction within the building's footprint. Perched on the coast's edge, this structure is situated adjacent to a bay carefully cleared of boulders for safe boat passage. Determination of its age remains uncertain without further excavation and carbon-14 testing. For centuries, turf-walled structures have been widely utilized, dating back to Norse times and persisting through the early part of the last century. Typically, these buildings feature stone settings to stabilize the walls, leaving behind only remnants from ancient structures when they eventually collapse.
