I designed a latch for old Rubbermaid toolboxes sold in the 80s and 90s, possibly later too. Since I couldn't find the exact part online, I created my own version. To use it, you'll need to drill new holes in the hinge area to fit your specific hinge pin. I made mine slightly longer to provide a better bearing surface and distribute the load more evenly. It functions smoothly so far.
