Replacement Rubbermaid / Gott gas can "nut" screw cap for a 1.5 gallon "Gott" (Rubbermaid) plastic gas can. Non-standard / custom threads made this a fun* challenge. Perseverance and a couple more Youtube lessons in how to use Fusion 360 resulted in a replacement part that works! Fits quite snug on the Gott 1.5 gallon can, and you will want to get the threads aligned to get started. The spout opening is 30.4 mm, outside diameter 52 mm, inside diameter with threads 41.7 mm.

The same threading worked even better on a 1 gallon (1g 4oz) Blitz can, which has a bit shorter neck so made another .stl that is cut down a bit (though both parts posted here will work on either can).

These parts do not fit the larger (2 1/2 gallon and above) cans I also tried them on from both Rubbermaid and Blitz).

Included a quarter section of the Gott-nut if you wish to print a quick test to see if these would fit a different gas can you may have. See print instructions below.

Fusion 360 model files included.

*if you are into wearing hairshirts

Print instructions

If you would like to make a test print, I suggest the quarter section .stl printed with two perimeters, 0% infill (or try in vase mode).

Parts designed to print with top face on print bed.
Parts designed to print at .20mm resolution.
Recommend PETG (any brand/color). For this print I used Overture PETG 3D Black and very happy with it.

With Prusa Slicer, started with default settings for .20mm QUALITY print setting and selected Generic PET filament setting.

Changes made to the default print setting:
3 perimeters
5 top and 4 bottom layers
15% rectilinear infill
Seam set to "Aligned."

No changes to filament settings.
No brim, no supports,

Examining layer by layer build in the slicer, 3 perimeters resulted in no internal "bridging" layers and overall appeared a bit stronger. I hope to never replace this again, so worth the extra 40 minutes and very little additional filament.

My printer is an i3Mk3 . . . And I love it!
