Rubber grip mould
thingiverse
Hi all! This is a brand-new mold for a grip that can be used as a comfortable grip on a broom, rake, mop, bike or anywhere you think it would fit perfectly. It's based on the same principle as my 2-in-1 Broom Buddy Handle/Apollo model. You can download this mold here - https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/hand-tools/broom-buddy-3d-printed-2-in-1-mold. To make a grip, follow these steps: 1 - Mix up a batch of proto-putty (silicone with food coloring as a curing agent and cornstarch as a filler/anti-sticky stuff). See Grant Thompson's how-to video here - https://youtu.be/7fwytA5r2Mw. 2 - Mould the proto-putty around the plunger. 3 - Place the plunger into the mold with the locating pin in its slot. 4 - Place the other side over and squeeze tightly. 5 - Assemble the alignment pieces. 6 - Push the plunger the rest of the way in. 7 - Wait 20-30 minutes and disassemble. 8 - Remove the cured silicone handle and carefully remove the plunger. Theoretically, I've yet to test this, but the concept works on my other models.
