Rubber Egg Drop Challenge

Rubber Egg Drop Challenge

I aimed to enhance flexibility with 3D printing by designing a part for an egg-shaped object made from flexible rubber filament. My printer couldn't extrude this soft material, so I redesigned its extrusion drive and head, printing modifications in ABS plastic. The upgrade allowed me to print soft, flexible rubber parts that hold the egg between two halves. To improve impact absorption, I adjusted infill settings. For assembly, I created stretchy bands printed in ABS but designed for flexibility. Testing showed the prototype protected the egg up to 10 feet; at 15 feet, it didn't survive. Future improvements include tentacle extensions and adjustments to infill settings. All required files and videos are attached.
