Rubber Bar End Caps

Rubber Bar End Caps

Bike fitting moved my drop bars to a position where the original metal bar end caps can now touch the topbar. Wanted to protect it so removed the original bar ends, and used their design\specifications to make these. The cap is meant to be printed with TPU or some other rubber filament. You can try PLA, ABS or another filament with a little bit of flex, but they fins might snap right off like happened to me when testing. The end part that goes inside can be any kind of filament, I used PLA. It's designed for a 10/24 nut since the stock screw (reused) was a 10/24 hex head screw. It's designed for 1.25-1.5" 10/24 flat head screws so they are recessed and won't touch the bar. Don't use lock nuts unless you hate yourself, a regular nut, hot glued into the end piece is perfect for what you need. (or cut the lock part out of a lock nut...) Feels tight once fully screwed down and holds the end of the bar tape well. I made three sizes of the end piece. I used the 19mm one and it had to be screwed almost all the way down. The larger ones will help fit bigger bars or fit with less screw tightening required, I imagine. Could adjust for M4\M5. Let me know if you desire it.
