Rubber Band Gun - no screws - long barrel
thingiverse
I wanted more oomph from the original design, so I made some significant changes. First, I increased the barrel length to 200mm from its original 116mm, giving it a longer pull and fatter bands. To accommodate this change, I redesigned the wheel with more side room and a rotating sleeve for the bands. Unfortunately, this means you'll need to use supports when printing the wheel. I also made the cogs slightly thicker since they're not as wide. Printing settings include a SeeMeCNC Rostock MAX v2 printer, no rafts, yes supports, a resolution of .25-.3, and infill ranging from 50-100%. I printed the wheel and trigger at .25 resolution with 3 perimeters, 2 top layers, and 100% infill. The frame was done at .3 resolution with 3 perimeters, 3 top layers, and 50% line infill. The barrel was printed at .3 resolution with 3 perimeters, no top or bottom layers, and 50% triangle infill. I used mostly Gizmo Dorks Translucent Red PLA for the print, which I found to be pretty good. Some users on the source mentioned having to tweak the fit of the frame pins, so I printed one in PETG, which fit almost perfectly. The PLA version required some fitting adjustments using a 5/16th drill bit and sanding with a small barrel on a dremel followed by scraping with a pocket knife blade. Despite needing extra care, the print stays together without adhesive, but I keep spare bands around the handle for added insurance.
