Rubber Band Gatlin Gun Model 1871
thingiverse
This is a project that I have been wanting to do for a while now. This is a rubber band Gatlin Gun that is designed after the hand fired Model 1874 Gatlin Gun. It can be fired hand held or on it's pedastal. 56-64 rounds! This is a work in progress. The assembly instructions will have to be developed. Supports: This project requires supports. The best type is PVA (water soluable) if you have a dual extruder printer. I used a Flash Forge Creator Pro 2 IDEX (independant dual extruders) Filament: I used the following 1.75mm PLA and PVA: PLA - Black, Brown and Rose Gold (for a metal look) - Nearly 2 kg required overall. PVA - water washable support Hardware: 1 ea 1" dia dowel rod x 12" long - This is the handle 16 ea #6-32 x 3/8 screws and nuts (escapement assembly) 3 ea 6082rs bearings: 8mm x 22mm x7mm (amazon) 2 ea 5/16 x 2 1/2" bolt 2 ea 5/16 x 1 1/2" bolt 4 ea 5/16 locknuts 1 ea 1/4" x 1" wood screw (to attach firing handle) 1 ea #4 x 3/4" wood screw (to fix wood dowel rod) 1 bag Size 19 rubber bands Print settings: All items at 40% fill w/brim and PVA supports except for below items: Items at 100% Fill and No supports: 6_Front_Body_Escapement - w/brim 7_Body_Spindle - w/brim 16_Escapement (8ea) - no brim 17_Rotor (8 ea) - no brim 18_Spacer_Escapement_Rotor (16 ea) - no brim 1/25/22 - Two tripods - The second one has a 7 degree tilt that will level the front of the Gatlin Gun.
