rsilvers farm lads Form-1 Build Plate
thingiverse
I'm setting up a farm with several machines that were missing build plates. I'm not using ABS, opting instead for PLA or PETG. To ensure a precise fit, make sure your printer doesn't print oversized parts, as this is a close fit, allowing only about 0.2mm clearance for the bolt head and 0.25mm for the Z-arm. I used 30% infill and it cost me $7.23 in material at $20 per kilogram. To achieve a liquid-tight seal, I employed five outlines. You may want to consider spraying clear paint on it to help seal it further. For the base, I'm using an epoxy-coated 5x5x0.125 aluminum plate that you can find on eBay for a link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-8-125-Aluminum-Sheet-Plate-5-x-5-6061/283237615122?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 This assembly requires a 1/4-20 nut and bolt, 1.5 inches long, with an 11mm head diameter. To secure it, push the bolt in from the bottom and apply some glue.
