RS1: Cargo ship

thingiverse

A versatile model of a cargo ship, compatible with FDM and various technologies. This watercraft is capable of buoyancy, however, if it's crafted from PLA filament and subsequently filled with water, it will eventually sink to the bottom. The model features numerous individual components that can be detached for separate inspection or integrated into the main structure. Despite lacking interior fittings, the model has a unique design devoid of preexisting patterns, emerging as a distinctive creation. Instructions: It is possible to fabricate this ship using FDM technology, though some obstacles might arise. Given its slender walls, it's advisable to amplify the model size substantially for improved printing outcomes. In fact, testing revealed successful results at a scale of 132% on the Prusa i3 printer when placed diagonally on the printing surface. Ensure that each component maintains uniform proportions. Ideally, the lines created by the first layer should be parallel to the direction in which the ship would travel. To attain an even more authentic appearance, consider altering filament hues during individual part production or incorporating flexi filament for plugging holes between compartments.
