RS-550 motor cover
thingiverse
We use widely available RS-550 motors in high school robotics projects. If the wiring terminals are not shielded, they can easily snap off. After replacing a pair of motors with damaged terminals, I created this cover to safeguard them from further damage. It's a bit rough around the edges, but it got the job done efficiently. This cover protects the terminals from impacts while still allowing airflow to the motor vents. I printed this in 95A TPU material. If you attempt to print it with anything rigid, it will likely not fit properly and the "legs" will easily snap off. To secure the cover to the motor, I simply wrap a piece of electrical tape around the legs. I have included exported Fusion 360 and STEP files for your use in any project you like. *** Update *** The original files were all exported in inches. I replaced them with metric versions to provide greater flexibility.
With this file you will be able to print RS-550 motor cover with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on RS-550 motor cover.
