"rp3d Pangu" Prusa i3 Wooden X Belt Tensioner
thingiverse
I purchased this i3 for a ridiculous price from Aliexpress, and to my surprise, it works amazingly well, but the classic design flaw that got on my nerves was its complete lack of X belt tensioning ability. This tensioner seamlessly integrates into the existing idler end; all you need to do is take out the 5mm ID bearings, pop them into the new tensioner using a slightly longer M5 bolt and nut. Insert the tensioner into the idler assembly, and the end cap takes two M4 bolts that will cleverly create their own threads in the undersized holes on the back of the tensioner arm; however, my M4 bolts were a bit too long so I had to use a nut instead, shorter bolts would be much better. Then, put the M5 bolt that was originally through the bearing back into its rightful place, tighten the belt, and tighten the bolt; it's a job well done.
