Royal Doorway. Monastery of Santes Creus
sketchfab
The doorway boasts a semi-circular arch composed of broad, sturdy voussoirs, reinforced by archivolts and capped with a dripstone that reaches dramatic finials. Adjacent to the entrance are remnants of an unfinished porch on both sides, hinting at a hypothetical structure that was never completed. The Royal Doorway was commissioned by the royal family themselves, which is why one of the voussoirs proudly displays the four-barred arms of Jaume the Just, while two others feature the fleur de lys emblem of Blanca d'Anjou.
