Royal Bell Remix

A lot more details on how to print this thing will be discussed in the 3D Printing Today Podcast: threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com or go to threedprintingtoday.com. This is a somewhat printable remix of the Royal Bell style Voronoi by 3DDEDCLUB. 3DDEDCLUB has been posting some REALLY AWESOME voronoi objects! However, this one was not printable as was posted since they added a bell clapper which kinda made it way too hard to print. I carefully removed the clapper using a variety of tools including Netfab and 3DCoat. It is still a major challenge to print. I adjusted the horizontal compensation with Simplify3D upward in my attempt to print with my Raise3D N2... This is the red version in the pics. Note the spot at the top where it went out of register. :-( I tried again on my CloneR1 from Carl Raffle (the white version) and this time did not enlarge the voronoi elements with compensation. I manually added supports to the center areas and used a minimal raft to keep the edges and the support on to the bed. I also decreased the Z position a bit using Z offset so that the bottom edge had more to grip. This object will test your printer's retraction capacity and how stable the extrusion carriage is. Any movement could easily break a piece off as I found with the Raise3D N2. It also will test your own skill! Printer: CloneR1 and Raise3D N2 Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm layer height Infill: 15% Notes: For more discussion on this and more details listen to the podcast: threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com
