Rowlet - Pokemon Sun & Moon Grass Starter
myminifactory
It's time for another exciting 3D model, folks! This time I've chosen to bring Rowlet, the brand new Grass Starter from Pokémon Sun & Moon, to life. And don't forget, I'll be creating the other two starters very soon, so be sure to get subscribed and stay up-to-date! I designed this model using Fusion 360's powerful sculpting and forms tools. To create the main body, I started with a box form and then pulled out various spots until I achieved the perfect shape. Next, I created a detailed sketch for the eyes and other features throughout the body. With those sketches in hand, I extruded them to add depth and cut the form into separate pieces to maintain the curvature of those details. The feet were crafted from precise sketches that allowed me to capture their unique design. With my 3D model complete, it was time to print it out on my Robo 3D R1 printer. Here are the settings I used: - Layer Height: 0.1mm - Infill: 20% - Supports: Yes - Raft: Yes The total print time came in at around 7 hours, a testament to the power and precision of my Robo 3D R1 printer. Now it's time for post-processing! Here's how I brought this model to life: Step 1: Sand/file any rough spots to smooth out the surface. Step 2: Apply plastic primer, giving it multiple coats with plenty of drying time in between. Step 3: Paint a slightly off-white acrylic paint on Rowlet's eyes and lower body. We used a sponge for fast and easy coverage. Step 4: Use the same technique as Step 3 to apply a tan color to his outer feathers. Step 5: With a paintbrush, carefully add color to the details like the green feather/tail and his feet and eyes. Step 6: Let it dry completely and enjoy your new Rowlet model!
