I have the fantastic Spirit Rover from Plumgeek in my possession, a truly amazing piece of technology. It's incredibly cool to behold, but unfortunately, its little wheels are quite disappointing, featuring very thin treads that make it struggle on carpet surfaces. To overcome this challenge, I took matters into my own hands and designed some new wheels that fit perfectly onto the motor shaft. These innovative wheels have a more rugged, rover-like appearance that's sure to turn heads. I put these new wheels through their paces and was thrilled to discover they offer a noticeable boost in performance on carpet. While there's still room for improvement, I'm eager to refine my design and add features like an o-ring groove for reduced noise and enhanced traction on hard floors. One version of this design caters specifically to FDM printers (those that use filament extrusion), while another iteration is tailored for powder bed or self-supporting printers like SLS or HP MJF.
