Rover v1

Rover v1

thingiverse

My first rover is still taking shape. My ultimate goal is to have it follow my son to school, carrying his backpack along the way. I've designed the rover to be highly modular, making it easy to add new features as I see fit. Next up will be building a 3x ultrasonic sensor bar that will give the rover a clear view of its surroundings, and a pan/tilt camera module for the top that will allow me to get a closer look at what's happening. The top covers are held securely in place by recessed magnets, giving the rover a sleek and rugged appearance. I've also made sure to use only high-quality electronics, motors, and wheel hubs, as they're the lifeblood of this project. As for the brain of the operation, it runs on a powerful Raspberry Pi that will allow me to program the rover with ease. I'll be sharing a detailed parts list soon, so stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project! Edit 1: The camera module is now live and panning smoothly - next up will be adding tilt functionality to give the rover an even wider range of motion.
