ROV Kort Nozzle for Bilge Pump Thruster

<p><strong>This is a Kort Nozzle for a homemade ROV thruster made from a Mayfair 750 GPH Bilge Pump.</strong></p> <p>Adding this kort nozzle to the thruster will increase the output thrust by about a full pound. This nozzle was specifically design to work with a 3 blade 50mm Robbe Boat propeller using an adapter with these <a href="http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/download/file.php?id=113">specs</a>.</p> <p>This was a prototype and the nozzle arms are a little weak so I have since made a <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1808381">new version</a>. that incorporates a mount into the nozzle. Even printed at 100% this will probably not be waterproof so keep that in mind when it comes to your Rov's buoyancy.</p> <h3>Custom Section</h3> <p><strong>The kort nozzle/thruster combo was designed to be mounted using a 1 1/2 conduit clamp.</strong></p> <p><strong>The conduit strap is mounted to the Rov frame using a #12 stainless steel flat head screws. Using a flat head screw allows the mount to self center to the mounting hole.</strong></p> <p><strong>It can be mounted to a flat or round surface, (PVC frame in this case) the area around the nozzle must remain open though for proper flow.</strong></p> </p></p></p> Category: Robotics
