The LBCC 2014 MATE competition ROV features a manipulator hand that has undergone several improvements. Version 1 and 2 encountered mechanical learning issues, while Version 3 had an inconsistency between the drive gear and worm. In Version 4 (11/27/13), the worm and spider mesh were addressed, along with the addition of mounting and gears for 360-degree rotation. The drive rod for the worm passes through the mount to reach the stepper motor on the wrist/forearm member.
