Router Throat Plate

Router Throat Plate

I designed this throat plate for a table router insert because the standard sizes available were either non-existent or ridiculously expensive. After all, it's just a small disc of plastic. My insert is likely from Sears, although I'm not positive about that. Fortunately, it works perfectly in my friend's Rockler insert, so I assume it's a standard size. To ensure precise cuts at 0 clearance, I simply run the new bit slowly through this plate whenever I use one. The heat generated by the bit hasn't melted the PLA plastic yet, despite my initial concerns. This throat plate is specifically designed for table router inserts and can be easily printed using a RepRap printer. Here are the print settings I used: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: You can choose any level, but I've found 20% to 100% infill works well.
