Router Laser alignment jig
thingiverse
I've got a Porter Cable router hooked up to my DIY CNC router build, mounted on the Z axis with a quick release that makes it a breeze to swap out bits. However, aligning the XY coordinates after clamping material can be a real challenge. That's where this handy jig comes in - it slips into the router jacket and lets me see the laser lines while I get everything lined up just right. This 5mW laser X from eBay is a game-changer for precision work. I've connected it directly to a battery and switch, so it's always ready to go. I also have a USB endoscope in a 12mm case that I use for alignment and measurement. It's currently mounted off to the side of the router, but I might print another jig to get rid of the offset. If your router, laser, or camera diameter is different from mine, don't worry - OpenScad has got you covered with custom designs.
