We desperately needed a more substantial base plate for our router in the workshop, so I conceived one. To modify our 1/4" router for a 1/2" router bit, we didn't have to buy an entirely new machine or its base; instead, we created and 3D printed a customized base that perfectly suited our needs and requirements. The entire setup functioned impeccably! To replicate this experience in your workshop, follow these steps: Make sure to print at 100% infill density for the base plate so it remains strong and resilient enough to support heavy usage without any flaws or breakage.
