Roundy Claw Grabber Door opener thing with belt clip case (with STEP file)

<p><strong>This was inspired by MrDWGraf's Awesome grabber thing - titled "COVID-19 Hook Claw Grabber with Belt Case Corona Virus":</strong></p> <p><a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4269376">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4269376</a></p> <p>I used that as the inspiration for this thing. My goal was to make it more roundy, and reduce the need for supports on the inside of the model by blending the walls in, which also made it more curvy. I chopped the belt clip off a model I made for a Hero Battery holder, and used it with this (scaled up as well). The 3D CAD pics of the model are slightly different than what is posted, but not significantly enough that I want to update them.</p> <p>See the pics for a suggested printing orientation. I printed this at 0.2mm resolution with supports touching the build plate only.</p> <p>if you make it, it may need to be scaled to fit your hand. One of the pics has a ruler for scale. The size of the finger holes is about 20x23mm, give or take a mm or two, and they profile is a rounded box.</p> <p>I added some pieces of white double sided foam tape (the kind that sticks to just about anything) to the inside of the claw to help with opening doors with knobs. It is hard, but can be done and the foam tape gives it some grip. I left the paper on one side of the tape, but if something like rubber (such as from a scrap of old bike tube) were stuck to it, it would probably grip round objects better.</p> <p>STEP file is attached.</p> <p><strong>Good luck and stay safe!</strong></p> Category: Household
