round vice - 3 point clamp
prusaprinters
To be able to clamp round parts i designed a 3 point clamp that can be printed. Its not that easy to print since good tolerances and strong parts are needed. Better tolerances lead to less play and therefore better clamping.I used 4 outer lines and 25% infill with 0.6 nozzle for the parts. I used ABS but PLA or PETG will definitely also work. PLA is much stronger than most people think. I attached 2 pictures that show my printing orientation. The top and bottom part are designed in a way that the middle hole will be printed closed. Therefore the printer will add 1 Layer of bridging there to generate a nice overhang. This single layer can be opened after printing with a drill, pen knife e.g. The attached gcode files are only to show some of my print settings. I printed them much faster on my voron but this site here wont take it because of my Start code. So I added my mini+ settings if you want to look at them. The Parts will be connected by a M4x38 /40 screw. Lubrication might help but i didn't need it.In the future I will maybe also add different shaped clamps.Happy printing ;)
