It features a sphere with a vertical hole perfect for slipping in a neckerchief, along with three holes on the side at 120-degree intervals. Between these holes, there is ample space to add up to three letters or numbers. As it stands, the default text reads "BSA," but users can easily change this to their preferred three-letter code or number - whether that's their unit number, Woodbadge course number, initials, or something else entirely. Users can also choose between two distinct text styles: recessed or extruded. If the former is selected, the text characters are carefully cut into the side of the sphere, creating a unique visual effect. On the other hand, if users opt for the extrude setting, the text pokes out from the side of the object. In addition to customizing the text, users can also tweak the smoothness of the outside surface of the sphere. By default, this is set at 32, resulting in a somewhat blocky appearance that many users find appealing. However, those seeking an even more rugged look can dial it down one notch for a maximum "Minecraft" aesthetic. As shown in the photos of printed items, coloring in the recessed areas is entirely possible. Two methods work particularly well: inexpensive crayons with high wax content and engraving filler used in bowling balls. One recommended brand is Markal Lacquer Stik, which can be sourced online for approximately $6 or acquired from a local pro shop. Of course, users are free to download the OpenSCAD file and make any necessary adjustments by hand - including font size, style, and more. However, it's worth noting that the creator initially built this design before realizing it needed to be slightly larger to accommodate neckerchiefs comfortably. Rather than recalibrating every parameter, they chose to scale the entire model for ease.
