Round Eye Glasses Nose Piece
thingiverse
This is my very first upload, a rounded design for eye glasses nose pieces. I created this with SolidWorks and made sure it's super tiny. Check out the pictures showing it next to a dime – it fits right between those coins. Unfortunately, its small size makes taking photos of it really challenging, especially since I printed it using clear PLA filament that adds extra clarity but also makes things harder to see. Design notes: Here are some important details you should know: My design for the nose piece holders doesn't use screws at all – instead, they get fitted onto the nose pieces themselves, gripping them tightly in place. This was intentional, and I made sure to include a small hole that lets these grippers clamp down onto the nose pieces, giving you total freedom to move the nose pieces up and down as needed. Dimensions are also really important: The nose piece is about 0.3 inches around, has a height of just 0.2 inches, and measures in at an amazing 0.055 inches thick. Instructions To print this design with success, you'll want to use clear PLA material like I did – the blue tape on my heated bed worked perfectly, and printing without preheating was not an issue because this design is really tiny and wouldn't get jammed in there anyway. When working with PLA, be sure to set your nozzle temperature just right at 175C to keep that filament sticking firmly where you need it – the last thing we want is it all messy!
