Round Clock eto
thingiverse
This is another version of Round Clock, also known as "Eto" clock http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1001638 Here, I've replaced the numbers with their corresponding Chinese index symbols. The Eto (12) symbol system originated in ancient China over 4,000 years ago and divides time, direction, and human life into sixty segments. Every segment has its unique animal emblem, which adds an extra layer of depth to this system. Starting from 0 (not 1 or 12 in China), we have the "Mouse", followed by the "Rabbit" at the third position, then comes the "Cow" at six and the "Bird" at nine. Each of these animals is represented by a single simple Kanji character, making it incredibly smart. Due to the lack of suitable Gold ABS, I decided to give them a paint job using 2nd from right material https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL9a-CLuOdU If you'd like to create your own unique symbols for a Round Clock, feel free to draw them as an eps (or .ai) file and send it my way. I'll be happy to incorporate and adjust the design. Alternatively, if you're skilled in CINEMA 4D, you can make one by hand. You can find two templates that work well with this system at http://www.11moon.com/minne/Round_Clock/round_clock_116.zip and http://www.11moon.com/minne/Round_Clock/round_clock_116_eto.zip The updates I've made are focused on the arrow module (arrow2) for easier printing. Instructions: To print this model, I used a DaVinci 1.0 3D printer by XYZ printing with the following settings: Layer pitch - 0.3mm Normal speed Normal shell thickness No raft or support structure For adhesive, I used stick paste (Tombow) on Shiwanashi PIT surface. The overall print time was approximately 480 minutes, and an additional sixty minutes were spent shaping, constructing, and sanding the model. Note that some modifications have been made to the ABS component due to the specified thickness. Additionally, please use a jig to accurately position the number emblems during assembly. For accurate arrow alignment, consider using ø3.7 and ø5.5 hand reamers, as these will greatly assist you in creating precise holes. As the text components have been changed from the original Round Clock model, some adjustments were made to its underlying parts (face, body, arrows) to better suit the "Eto" design requirements
