Round Casting Flask

This is a re-make of willie42's Casting Ring, but with an alignment notch so that I don't have to pay attention to the alignment of the two halves. There's also a chamfer for perfect centering for the eventuality that the clearance is too loose (it isn't loose in my print setup). The outer diameter is 80mm, height 50mm, and wall thickness is 3mm. The clearance between the parts is 0.2mm. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: CR-10 Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 5% Notes: I printed this quick and dirty. If you print this part with a finer or coarser resolution, this might affect whether the 0.2mm clearance between the parts suits you. Post-Printing Coming straight out of the printer, this clearance is a little bit tight initially, but after attaching and detaching the parts some 10 or 20 times, it is a perfect, easy fit. I also have a little bit of stringing and blobbing, which contributes to that. How I Designed This Due to this being a simple object, I re-did the design in Fusion 360, adding the notch and also a self-centering chamfer. Actually, this is my first design whatsoever (not counting Tinkercad). I'm also adding the Fusion 360 file. If I'd start again, I'd make more measurements parametric. Here is the Fusion 360 link: https://a360.co/2lheEUL. The CAD file is also among this Thing's files (in Fusion 360 .step format). Right now, if you wanted to change the diameter, you'd have to change the diameter the first sketch as well as the round cutouts of the two halves separately (to diameter minus wall thickness of 3cm). Changing the clearance from 0.2mm to something else should be a little easier: There are two different surface offset features that need to be changed for that. Category: DIY
