Roubo Phone Stand
thingiverse
A Roubo book stand is typically crafted from a single solid piece of wood, utilizing various tools such as a saw, chisel, drill, and fretsaw, along with precise marking out to ensure accurate guide lines. Witnessing two interconnected pieces carved out of a single block is truly captivating. I have created a 3D printed version of this stand, which, due to its smaller size, qualifies it more accurately as a phone stand rather than a book stand. The design prints in a single piece and can be easily opened by carefully prying it apart with the same spatula used for separating prints from the printing bed. In Malaysia, folding coconut scrapers made from wood and featuring a scraping blade at one end are commonly seen, employing a similar interlocking design principle.
