Rotterdam Erasmus Bridge (scale 1:1000)

A scale model of one of the most breathtaking bridges in the world; the Erasmus Bridge over the Maas river in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, now takes center stage. The model was meticulously crafted using pictures and my own observations as guides; I live mere minutes away and can witness the 139m top from my window. This iconic bridge is one of the two most recognizable landmarks on the Rotterdam skyline, which itself is widely regarded as the country's most iconic skyline. A quote from a resident of Amsterdam, often referred to as 'rival city', aptly captures the Erasmus Bridge's allure; "The Erasmus Bridge is the only thing in Rotterdam that we are envious of." Its dimensions measure approximately 900mm x 140mm, which puts it at a roughly 1:1000 scale. However, I opted to print it at 120% (the maximum height my printer could accommodate). This model is actually a faithful replica of a real suspended bridge; you can lace it together with rope yourself. Its structural integrity allows it to support considerable weight, especially when the ends are anchored securely.
