Rotten Rick

Note: This is my first model, so give me feedback please! I'm excited to share my entry for the Thingiverse contest competition! It's designed as a prop that can complement a costume or serve as a decoration that looks its best amidst dead leaves and moss. The most up-to-date model is labeled "final," but previous versions can also be found. I'll add more pictures soon! **Print Settings** * Printer Brand: Ultimaker * Printer: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: Yes * Supports: Yes * Resolution: .5 * Infill: Whatever suits you (note: not recommended for zero infill, as small holes can appear in the eyes and the overall print may be susceptible to cracking) **Post-Printing** Painting: This print is inspired by jack-o'-lanterns in their early stages of rot. To achieve a realistic look, make sure to remove all residue from support material before painting. Start by spraying a coat of orange paint on the entire model, then paint the mouth, eyes, nostrils, and various pits with yellow paint. Next, use white and black paint to darken the yellow "flesh" of the pumpkin, trying to dirty its skin with dabs of darker orange or brown in places. You can also use combinations of white and black paint to replicate mold. Take it a step further by painting cotton balls or similar materials and placing them in the eyes, mouth, and skin for added texture and moss-like appearance. Feel free to get creative with this part! Since the model has extensive support material, the bottom may be left with a rough texture even after sanding. To fix this, use a mix of orange and black paint to give it a wet, dirt-covered appearance. My advice is to experiment and refer to pictures for inspiration!
