Rotten Rick Pumpkin
prusaprinters

This is meant as a prop that could go along with a costume, or a decoration that looks best among dead leaves and moss.

You will need to paint after printing:

This print is inspired by jack o' lanterns in the early to mid stages of rot.

-Make sure residue from support material has been properly sanded/removed

You should start by spraying a coat of orange paint, then paint the mouth, eyes, nostrils, and the various pits with yellow paint. After this is done, use white and black paint, to darken the yellow "flesh" of the pumpkin. Try to dirty the pumpkins skin with dabs of a darker orange, or brown in places. Combinations of white and black paint can be used to replicate mold. You could go one step further, and paint cotton balls or some other similar material, and put it in the eyes, mouth, and the skin to give it more textured moss. Just be creative with this part!

Due to the large amounts of support, The bottom may be left with a rough texture even after sanding. I recommend using a mix of orange and black paint to give this area a wet, dirt covered appearance.
My advice is to experiment and look at pictures for reference.

Rafts:
Yes

Supports:

Yes

Infill:

Whatever suits you

Notes:
-Can be done with zero infill if necessary
*not recommended as small holes can appear in the eyes, and the overall print will be susceptible to cracking!

Print instructions

Paint after print
