RotorX Atom Prop Guard
thingiverse
My RotorX Atom quad is quite spirited to be used indoors without taking precautions, so I created a prop guard that lets me bump into things without stopping the blades or causing any damage. Update 1: I've added some new versions with some key improvements. One version is missing the arches, which were its weak points, and another version has an extra 2mm of material all around for additional strength. These will need to be positioned above or below the props since without the arches they will get in the way, but it should print more easily and be much stronger. Update 2: I've added a cut-down version of the reinforced archless design. This was slightly strengthened around its weak points and the cut area too. You can print two of these and simply flip one after printing is complete. If you're particular about appearance, you can flip one in the slicer so that the top and bottom print surfaces look the same when mounted. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 100% Notes: I printed this in ABS, but anything else should probably work fine too. I've tried printing with PLA at a 30% infill setting, but it shattered after a small outdoor crash. Indoors, however, it should be completely safe.
