Rotative System for Electrophoretic Deposition EPD on 1D Electrodes

thingiverse

This is a system that allows to rotate a 1D electrode (I used a conductive carbon fiber yarn) while at the same time applying a voltage to perform Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD). The coating obtained through EPD on fiber/yarn shaped electrodes are affected by the force of gravity and result in asymmetric films with accumulation of material at the bottom. With this system I performed EPD while at the same time rotating the yarn and was able to obtain symmetric uniform coatings. For this project you will nedd:2 x alligator with a rod connection2 x metallic rods that fit the alligators (i got mine from two old multimeter probes)4 x M8 bolts1 x 8 mm threaded rod 8 x M5 nuts and boltsNema 17 stepper motor + rigid shaft coupling for 8 mm threaded trodArduinoopt: you can use a wood base instead
