Rotating Spork
thingiverse
I was unable to print the entire design due to a limited printer size. However, I'm confident in the functionality of the mechanisms and tolerances appear to be accurate. The idea for this project germinated during an outdoor camping trip where sporks were used daily. I wanted to create something both unique and practical. Although it turned out quite cool, its usability might not surpass that of a standard spork. To enhance user experience, I designed a rotating feature with a locking mechanism. Initially, I had envisioned incorporating a knife that would extend from the case, but my inexperience with Tinkercad made this challenging to implement. Furthermore, I aimed to develop a way to cover both sides of the spork but couldn't find an effective solution. I'm eager for feedback and would appreciate any suggestions on how to improve the design. If you decide to download and print this project, please let me know about your experience or provide insights on how it can be optimized.
