I really liked what Marvin did with the original version of this print, and I wanted to try my hand at recreating it and perhaps making some modifications.

My first modification was to make the rings thinner - 8mm compared to the original 16mm.

My second modification was to print the faces in two different colors using filament switching.

The OnShape 3dD CAD files are here :

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/946cf8ed2a7ccc96b58a861d/w/779f326744ca1333cc0607e8/e/87578b4128accad060f45461

Print instructions

Print in PLA using the 3mf file provided - this prints the first two layers in Color1, the middle in Color2, and the top two layers in Color3. All of the rings print at the same time.

Also included is a 3mf file for printing in a single color.

You may find that the rings stick a bit on the bottom side initially - just work them loose (starting with the center) by pushing firmly on one side of the ring.

The basic print settings are as follows:

layer height 0.15mm

0% infill

top and bottom concentric

perimeters = 2

elephant foot compensation = 0.6mm

The elephant foot compensation is important to keep the rings from sticking together on the bottom layer.

With these thinner rings, it is also possible to print each of the rings separately in different colors, and then "snap" them together after printing. I was able to successfully dis-assemble and re-assemble the rings, but I did not try printing different colors.
