#Rotating Lithophane Lamp This is a remix of [KaytlinH's beautiful Lithophane Lamp](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2721545) and [djeaton's ingenious Revolving Base](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2438323) The design intent is to a allow easy packaging to mail the lamp so I have broken the lamp body into single pieces and reduced the size of the base stand Another design intent for this lamp is to use LED modules or LED strips. I have adapted the mount for a light bulb from djeaton's design but I have not tested this. ####Creating Your Lithophanes Using your favorite tool, create four 100x100 mm lithophanes. If you do not have a favorite I recommend [IsLitho](https://tool.itslitho.com/CreateModel) - here is a short [tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7EpV_uUufs) on how to create lithophanes using IsLitho I use frame thickness of 2 mm and depth of 3 mm to ensure a smooth fit for the lamp ####Other Stuff You Need - 8 x M3 screw, length 10 - 16 mm, Flat or Button head (only 4 if you print the Assembled Frame) - 4 LED modules or 1 LED Strip. I use [these modules](https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-module-strings/single-color-led-module-linear-module-w-3-smd-leds-57-lumensmodule/141/) in my lamps - Power Supply ####Printing Instructions - Print the Base and - if required - the Light Bulb Mount with supports - All other pieces can be printed without supports - If you want to have the compact form factor for easy mailing, print the Lamp Bottom and 4 Frame Pieces separately - I have uploaded a single Frame Piece, all 4 Frame Pieces and all 4 Frame Pieces with custom supports(to reduce ghosting) - use a brim when printing any of these - If you do not need the compact form factor print the Assembled Frame Piece - If you need extra protection for your Lithophanes when shipping (or if you just need a case to store multiple Lithos) print the Case and Lid - Print the Diffuser in in white or translucent material - I always print it in the same color as my Lithos ####Assembly Assembly of the base - Push the Rotating Plate through the Light Cylinder (or Light Bulb Mount) onto the pins of the Base - The pin connections are tight, you will most likely not be able to disassemble the Base without breaking them - Apply 4 LED modules or wind an LED strip around the Light Cylinder and guide the cable through the hole in the Light Cylinder to the Base - [Alternative]: Assemble a light bulb as described in djeaton's design Assembly of the lamp - Secure the 4 Frame Pieces to the Lamp Bottom using 4 x M3 screws [skip this step if you printed the Assembled Frame] - Slide your lithophanes into the frame - Place the Diffusor into the lamp; it will be pushed to the top when you place the lamp onto the Base [Note] if you use a light bulb you have to glue to the Diffusor to the Lamp top as described in KaytlinH's design - Secure the Lamp Top using 4 x M3 screws - Slide the lamp onto the base I have uploaded illustrated assembly instructions in the files section, but it seems Thingiverse has issues with .docx files (and does not support PDFs ?!?)
