Rotating Headset Stand

Rotating Headset Stand

This custom headset was created with one goal in mind: hold a bigger headset design comfortably on your head. But let's get real for a second - those gears inside are purely aesthetic and didn't have any functional use in this case. Initially, the idea behind the design was to incorporate clear PLA material for the outer casing so that you could actually see those gears moving underneath. Unfortunately, that plan didn't quite pan out as expected, mainly due to the clarity issues it had. Some areas of improvement could be identified if we had more time, and there might just be another genius out there who is willing to pick up where we left off and add their own touch of magic to this design. A few tweaks here and there would really breathe new life into this piece - perhaps shaving down that base to make it a little slimmer or rounding the edges to give it a more comfortable feel. As for the cover, well, let's just say its necessity is being questioned, and maybe cutting back on some of those design elements wouldn't have been a bad call after all. **Instructions** We managed to get ours up and running on a Makerbot 2 without too much trouble - at least once you figured out which bits required the support for printing. When it comes down to mounting the cover, all you really need is four M3 x 18 screws to hold it in place snugly against that base. Design credits go to Lubos, an enterprising grade 12 student with a keen eye for design who spent some quality time with Solid Edge crafting this piece of machinery.
