Slotted bases designed for seamless mating with standard 1/2" post holders enable secure mounting of optics and detectors on optical tables. The slots are carefully sized to provide clearance for smooth sliding along 1/4-20 screws, ensuring a precise fit. When securing these bases to the table, it's essential to use a washer to distribute the load evenly and prevent premature wear. This simple precaution significantly increases the lifespan of the part, ensuring reliable performance over time. The center hole(s) in each base is countersunk to accommodate a 1/4-20 screw inserted from below, allowing for easy attachment to commercially available post holders. Both versions have been successfully printed using PLA material, but it's possible that you may need to widen the center through holes to compensate for any shrinkage during the printing process.
