The main goal of this project is to investigate the concept of a permanent magnet motor and demonstrate why a commonly used design cannot be made to run self-sustainingly. As the project progresses, I'll share multiple videos that provide insight into the process. Currently, I have the drum design complete and will upload additional parts as the project continues to evolve. The drum features 40 neodymium disk magnets with a diameter of 10mm and thickness of 3mm, which are hot-glued into sockets. It also has sockets on the side for two bearings: 608zz type, measuring 22mm in outer diameter, 8mm in inner diameter, and 7mm in thickness. I used Cura to slice the model with a gradual infill pattern and supports that touch the build plate. The layer height is set to 0.15mm. Display stands have been uploaded; however, you'll need to perform some wet sanding to fit the axles into the bearings.
