Rotary Tool Rack
thingiverse
This wall mountable rack is designed for the 160W HobbyKing Rotary Tool and its accompanying tool set. The lower shelf is dedicated to holding cutting disks and polishing paste, while the left side features a cable manager and the right side has a holder for the removable micro light that comes with the tool. After printing a test version of this rack, I've observed that it fits well on the wall and provides ample space for the rotary tool. The cable is neatly managed, and the holes are deep enough to keep the tools upright. A slot on the lower shelf accommodates cutting disks. However, during testing, I noticed that the cable manager on the left side requires support from the build plate only. To optimize material usage, large recessed holes have been incorporated into the backside of the rack; these need to be bridged approximately 15mm. When mounted on the wall, the bridged and supported areas become invisible. For the test version, I utilized PLA, but you may prefer using a more robust material for better results. A photo of the final printed version will be shared soon. This rack is substantial in size, measuring almost 20x20x25 cm, which means it requires the entire print surface area of an MK3 printer. In my experiment with an old Dremel tool, I found that the holder fit was a bit loose due to the HK tool being slightly thicker than the Dremel. Feel free to modify and remix this design according to your specific needs.
